We offer 24-hour care to inpatients and outpatients of all ages.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program
Our pulmonary rehab program is designed to help patients increase strength, endurance and quality of life through:

  • Boosting self-confidence
  • Decreasing shortness of breath
  • Decreasing the need for hospital stays
  • Exercise
  • Increasing daily activities

We offer:

  • Breathing Treatments
  • Chest Physical Therapy
  • Mechanical Ventilation (life support)
  • Oxygen Therapy
  • Pulmonary Function Testing

Physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses, exercise specialists and support staff work together to address each patient's individual needs. Each session includes assessments of oxygen levels, blood pressure, heart rate and breathing and physicians are kept informed of patients' progress during the program. Warm up exercises and breathing techniques are practiced before exercising.

There are three phases to the program.

Phase I

Targets inpatients by using education and therapy to increase knowledge and strength.

Phase II

Outpatient sessions happen three times a week, with educational topics discussed once a week. Topics include:

  • Anatomy of the lungs
  • Breathing techniques
  • End of life issues
  • Lung Disease
  • Management of lung disease
  • Medications
  • Meter dose inhalers and small volume nebulizers
  • Nutrition
  • Oxygen therapy

Phase III

The last phase of the program, for outpatients who have undergone phase I and II and want to maintain their regimen under supervision.

Patients must be referred by a physician to enter the pulmonary rehab program.
