New Visitor Policy Restrictions at Galesburg Cottage Hospital
(Galesburg, IL)- Galesburg Cottage Hospital is now restricting all visitors. These restrictions take effect immediately:
- Galesburg Cottage Hospital (GCH) is now restricting all visitors from entering the hospital unless it is essential to patient care.
- Out-patient surgical patients may have their driver accompany them to the surgical family wait room but they must remain in the waiting room at all times.
- In the Emergency Department, only one adult visitor is allowed.
Since the situation surrounding the coronavirus continues to evolve and changes occur rapidly, the hospital advises community members to check with their provider or call the hospital in advance for further updates.
Galesburg Cottage Hospital has chosen to follow proactive precautions to protect patients, team members, and the communities served and remain sensitive to the separation this restrictive visitor policy causes our patients and their loved ones, but we believe this measure of protection is essential at this time to keep people safe.
Cottage Clinic providers follow the latest CDC guidelines with COVID in recommending that patients at risk for COVID who are not yet showing symptoms or have mild symptoms stay home and call their Cottage Clinic provider’s office to determine next steps.
