New temporary visitor policy enacted to protect patient health during this flu season.
Galesburg Cottage Hospital is currently under temporary visitor restrictions due to an increasing number of flu cases and respiratory cases in the area. Community members are asked to help protect the hospital’s patients, guests, associates and staff, by adhering to the following visitor guidelines during the remainder of the cold and flu season:
• Children under the age of 18 and those with upper respiratory symptoms such as cough, stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, fever, chills, and body aches, should not visit the hospital
• If visiting a patient can't be avoided, visitors should wear a face mask which can be picked up at no charge at the information desk at the hospital’s front entrance
• No more than two visitors at a time for each patient will be allowed
• Those visiting patients who are ill with influenza will be limited to people who are necessary for the patient’s emotional well-being and care
This temporary policy will stay in effect until further notice.
