Tara Baum, M.D. recently joined Daniel Piper, M.D., board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, at Knox OB GYN, Ltd. in Galesburg.

"With Dr. Baum’s arrival, we have another skilled physician with great credentials on our team along with Barbara J. Clark, certified physician assistant and Amy Mefford, a certified nurse midwife. We are really pleased to provide a female OB/Gyn for patients with that preference," said Dan Piper, president of Knox OB GYN.

Dr. Baum graduated in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska and in 2006 with a medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine.  She completed her medical residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, Virginia.

Dr. Baum will offer the full spectrum of routine care for adolescents through senior citizens featuring obstetric services ranging from preconception to delivery and postpartum care, normal and high risk pregnancy, infertility, adolescent health, teen pregnancy, laparoscopic surgery, urinary incontinence, menstrual abnormalities, family planning, menopause management, and female cancer screening.
